More than 800 law enforcement agents swooped down on a massive human smuggling ring in Arizona early Thursday morning, delivering a "stunning blow" to a criminal network that helped shuttled illegal immigrants all around the country.

Thursday's strike is the largest coordinated action ever led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which partnered with eight other federal, state and local agencies to arrest 47 suspects in Phoenix, Tucson, Nogales and Rio Rico, Arizona.

We could bring 300k troops stationed around the world in passive countries home and use them them to secure the border and round up illegals. Unemployment would drop. The cost of social programs would drop. The cost of Education would plummet and education would improve.

We can't ignore this any longer and giving them Amnesty is not the answer.

Although it is a good thing it is a total waste of time. We could save a lot of money and do away with ICE, immigration laws and any part of securing our borders. After all we are just going to give amnesty anyway. Why bother.

Using the military to secure our borders is not an option. It is too close to our military being used as police officers. Something that is very harmful to American citizens and their rights. Good intentions bad outcome.

It has been said it is too big of a job to deport and secure our borders anyway. That is the call for the amnesty program. The ones I feel sorry for are the immigrants that took the time and resources to enter this country legally. All their efforts were for nothing. All the money they spent was for nothing. Being a law abiding and now a legal citizen was for notihng. We jsut want to slap them in the face then protect and help the illegal people. The American way! Spank the law abiding citizens and praise the lawless.

It would pay for itself over time. When politicians say "It will cost to much" "Its to big a job". That means no one is paying them for it. Look at Afghanistan if defense contractors wasn't lining the pockets of politicians we would have left after 6 months. Maybe, Immigration needs to be privatized.

Not securing our borders at all is dangerous terrorism is never going away. 350 Million guns in the hands of Americans using the military to secure our border is not a threat to us.

Giving Amnesty to Illegals will let them bring there families over which will be a bigger drain on our resources. It gives them access to welfare and unemployment. They also will have to paid more which means they will get fired and replaced with new illegals. Its a never ending loop.

We have to look out for our own. By 2020 Texas's population is expected to go up 30%. They are already having water shortages as it is. California ships in most of its water.

I don't want to our great country collapse. If we continue with the way its going we will start to see slums like 3rd world countries have popping all over. Retired military bases have been filling up with homeless for the last few years. Every Illegal in this country is taking a job that one of the 30m unemployed can do.

Fully agree that not securing our borders is very dangerous. However we have been ignoring it for years. Now that the problem has reached a point we want to all of a sudden send in the military. We should not have a standing Army on US soil. It is just as dangerous as open borders. Leave law enforcement up to law enforcement. Empower them to do their jobs instead of handcuffing them. I do not nor ever support amnesty. That is a kick in the face to those who immigrated legally.

I wonder what this really means?

Is it just a show to try to ally US citizens suspicions of a US federal so-called government which is impotent against the illegal alien invasion?

If the US employers who stoop so low they could walk under an ant with clearance to "employ" illegal aliens are not identified and prosecuted, what effect will this really have?

If the US politicians which cannot seem to act effectively at all to deal with the illegal alien invasion are still making the decisions, why should anyone believe anything will change? How much drug money - and drugs - are making their way to politicians to "buy" their cooperation?

What will the drug empire - which obviously IS NOT impotent - do if and when the US federal so-called government might finally act to shut down the borders and greatly impede both the illegal alien invasion and the drug cartel shipping routes?

It all comes down to getting the US federal so-called government to act....which for decades it has not done.

At some point I suspect US citizens will have to take these issues on themselves....and also deal with the US corrupt political system. How? When? I don't know.....

For decades the Medias...both Conservative and Progressive...have failed to report on the murders and kidnappings that took place on American soil at the hands of criminals from the Southern Border. Every state in the US has been affected. The drug cartels have been allowed to move freely in this country for decades while our government knowingly watched generations of our youth become addicted to the poison that Mexico exports to this country with the help of their military and the blessings of those who were elected to preserve our safety. Apparently now, the death and mayhem is so bad it can no longer be kept under wraps.

I don't say thank you to any party of our government. However I question "WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG"? Ten years to stop this?

Our Representatives swore an oath to uphold the laws and prevent a foreign invasion. Now that these illegal invaders have drained American taxpayers to the tune of $340 Billion a year and we are bankrupt...why are we thanking any faction of government? Why are we not beginning trials to prosecute those officials who failed to uphold their oath of office? Just since 9/11/2001 nearly 80,000 people have died on American soil at the hands of illegals. Our cowardly, silent Representatives are just as guilty as those who actually committed the crimes.

Vote all incumbents out. VOTE THEM OUT…VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

ICE officials predicted that the strike would put an immediate freeze on smuggling activity in Arizona, having "dismantled" the smuggling network and arrested key players in the international ring.

Though ICE predicted other groups would move in to take the place of the smugglers rounded up Thursday, the agency believes it will take a good deal of time for so sophisticated an operation to be put in place again. (emphasis mine)

Soooo, much ado about nothing. I appreciate the work these agencies and departments put into this operation but in a few weeks this won't even matter. Perhaps its already irrelevant. I don't believe the fault lay with these mentioned in this article but with those in DC. They're the same that fuel the drug war and the war on poverty. They're the same that benefit from wars over seas. They're the same that benefit from monsanto and other conglomerates taking advantage of those too powerless to defend themselves, let alone know what is happening. They pull the wool over our eyes and tell us they'll change the game so that all can live better lives but... in steps reality to kick us in the teeth.

The way to stop illegal immigration is very simple - hold those companies that hire them accountable in time (prison) and fines (at least six figures for each illegal). No jobs - no illegals. I know some businesses will fail, a lot of them will be small businesses, but the law HAS TO BE ENFORCED. There are other issues connected to this but kinda off topic...
